A Cross-Sectional Study on Depression and its Associated Factors among Adults in Urban Can Tho, Vietnam

Background: This study set out to determine the prevalence of depression and its associated factors in Can Tho City, Vietnam's urban community. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study with a sample of 449 people aged 18 to 60 years old was conducted in Ninh Kieu district, Can Tho city, from September 2015 to June 2016. Depression was measured using the PQH-9 Patient Health Scale. The total PHQ-9 scores ranged from 0 to 27. Scores of 5, 10, 15, and 20 represent cut-off scores for mild, moderate, and major depression, respectively. and analyze related factors by multivariable logistic regression.
